Thank you AJ for elaborating on what I was too lazy too. Left out Nick Swisher.
Anyways, first of all, the yankees pitching lineup is doing great. CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett, and Andy Pettite have done well for the most part, and their bullpen has been extremely reliable. Words need not describe their hitting, pretty much speaks for itself. Although not all of them have been great, A-rod and Derek Jeter have done plenty to lead the team to a world series win. And as for your comment about offense prevailing...
Phillies offense is by no means better than the yankees, especially with A-rod finally producing.
And the phillies defense doesn't even come close to the yankees, so no contest there. If you really want me to, I'll compare each of the positions. 3rd base: no contest. A-rod is obviously better. SS: Again, although Jimmy Rollins is good, Jeter is a better player, and he has been performing. 2nd base: Phillies take this one. 1st base: draw here. Although Howard is a better batter, he isn't quite the fielder that Teixera is. OF: not even a comparison here. C: Although he's not the greatest, posada definitely takes the edge here.
Another point for the yankees: momentum. There is no doubt in my mind that they will win the first game, with CC Sabathia, and winning the first is game is obviously important, as has been displayed throughout the playoffs.
Sorry for the breakdown, just proving a point.
