200gal into 3rds

I don't feel that a 24"x36" footprint is enough for a fahaka. I've got a 6" in a 72"x24"x24" (180 gallon) tank so my footprint is 72"x24" and it uses all the floorspace in the tank. I think, since it's going to be your show tank that more decoration and just the fahaka would be much more impressive. Since Congos are less active you could get away with a divided 55 for them or possibly two 30 gallon breeder tanks.

i sketched out some ideas at work, im gonna leave the floor open and put the congo tanks at the top. picture a 200 gal tank with corner overflows, now think of like a couple of 20gal tanks at the top in the corner. ill draw it out and post it.

Acrylic will be fine when you cut it. it doesn't crack that easy. I guess the one thing to consider with acrylic is its ability to bond with silicone. If you go with glass, you wouldn't have to worry about that.

I will adjust my words a little. Bonding acrylic with silicone shouldn't pose a problem as there will be no pressure exerted on the piece. Go with acrylic.

word of warning, be careful if you drill it, ive had it crack on me because bit dug in too much. If that makes sense. Also theres special blades or bits if you find them. Ive personally thought about using a router, with the acrylic in some sort of shallow water for cooling but i havent given it a shot yet.
