my rtc went from 3" to 2ft in 12mo in a 150gl then i had to give him away :( someday ill build a monster tank so i can keep one for good

^ sounds good those1. Im betting mine is around 18" now but like you he's just to big to net. I will have to put a yard stick on the bottom or something soon

Anyone still keeping up with this? Measured mine yesterday when I was adding insulation 20" exact. He's still growing fast to.....so anyone else?

I dont test my water it comes from a well. I used to do test but the more i messed with the water the more fish I would loose. I do weekly water changes of about 45% water and every other water change i clean out the sponge filters. Because I clean the sponges on a water change i haven't cleaned out my canister filter.

Weather your water comes from a well or not you should always keep up water tests. If you are not testing how do you know if you have any problems As gill curl is caused by nigh Nitrite and amonia so with out testing you have no idea what your water chemestery is doing:screwy:.

Buy the way great thread people :)

Tank hasn't grown much at all(length wise) due to me only feeding him every 3rd day and lowering his water temp by 5*. I think I'm gonna start upping the temp again and feeding every day for a month and see what happens.

Hey guys, sorry I have not been on in a long time, I have been so busy with my first job, and keeping up with school. So, sadly my fish have not grown at all in length, just girth. I am actually looking for good homes for all my freshwater monsters as I am gettin more into saltwater reef tanks. If anyone is interested in my stock let me know through pm...thansk guys hope everyone is doing well.
