I just bought my tickets, I'm so excited to finally see these guys live! Any other MFKers going? I'm going January 31st.

Tool is my choice band since the 90's. Dont get me wrong they are sick!! But there concerts suck. I base that on seeing them twice and there was little to no speaking to the crowd. For me I want that when I go see my favorite band of all time or any band for that matter. And yes.....I would go again...reluctantly

Tool used to be one of my all-time favorite bands, but what caused me to pretty much get over them was reading about their live performances. Maynard doesnt move, doesnt banter much... really phones it in. Some people think he lipsynchs. Not to mention they play like a 12 song set, INCLUDING the filler songs on the albums. Apparently he will raise the dead with A Perfect Circle, but with Tool, seems like the guys dont really have any interest in playing together anymore. I'd much rather go see Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains and see an insanely intense 25-30 song set.
All 3 of those bands have new albums coming out this year. As does Soundgarden. So either way, gonna be a good year :headbang2

Lol, I thought it was for wrenches and screwdrivers before clicking on this thread.

I was like...huh? A tour?

I may get in trouble for saying this but tool concerts are meant for the right ''mind set''. If you are in that mind set it will be a concert that you will never forget.

But that was back in the 90's when I was in that ''mind set'' and have sence settled down and SOBERed up lol

I toured with them back in 98 on Ozzfest. Got to see them 21 times in a row and honestly, back then, they were absolutely amazing. The show had a vibe to it that no other band could match. Then, they became popular, started side projects and they haven't been the same since. Maynard could give 2 s**ts about Tool anymore and his writing and performances with A Perfect Circle have shown that. If you've never seen them before, unfortunately they are a shadow of what they used to be IMO. Still a great band, but not the same band that played Lollapalooza or Ozzfest

Probably feels much longer than 12 songs :grinno:
But ehh, I'd still gypped. It's a very short and extremely impersonal show with Tool.

My Skink is still named Jambi though

May I ask you what band you played/play in ?
I saw Tool live few years ago , they were great even though it's not really my type of music ( I am more into the old Sepultura/ Fear Factory sound).
