2012 TOOL U.S. Tour- who's going?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
guilty as charged:)

don't get me wrong here, because I really love Tool, I just wish they still liked each other lol. The disconnect between the members seems to have started to affect the live show. Either way, I'll probably still go to the show.
I know what you mean about the old days with them, Maynard would come down to you and stare you in the face beating his chest, just very powerful shows almost intimidating the way Rollins and Iggy Pop do it. Still, the bigger newer shows they did, if you play music, me as hobby not job, but truly play or at least hear and feel music and know talent, their shows still are a great escape for me, even drug-less.

Ew, Henry Rollins  I hate Henry Rollins and Black Flag. Other than the Tool song he sang a verse in... I think it's Bottom from Undertow?

HOLY.
CRAP.
Idk what you guys were talking about, but the show was the most intense thing i've ever experienced. The energy flowing between the crowd and band was palpable, and the entire arena was packed.
Every song had so much emotion and power behind it.. even when they played intension, which i usually use to fall asleep. the light show and music combination almost put me in a trance.
The finale was AEnema, which is my favorite song by them.. the entire crowd flipped when maynard started the first, quiet "hey, hey, hey..." and they (including me) sang along to the entire song. There was so much feeling, it literally brought tears to my eyes. Couldnt have ended the night any better.
I really cant accurately describe it with text.

I'm with you Plec123.

I don't really care if a band interacts with the audience or amongst themselves. TOOL has not released any new music in quite a while, and their concerts basically consist of a ten song "Best of TOOL" set. They are probably bored playing most of those songs. But they still play them really, really well.

I think that their enthusiasm in their product manifests itself in the visual experience of their concerts, which changes from tour to tour. And in my opinion, the visual experience of a TOOL concert is phenomenal.

A TOOL concert is one of my favorite things in life.

The amazingly talented John Connolly! have you been playing the drums at all like the old days or still just guitar? What fish are you keeping?
