I would say Nissan has done more then try to jump in the ring. I still feel thay own the ring with their lap time. A 7:08 for a 200,000 car to a 6:57 for a 850,000 is pretty scary.:D

The last generation acr held the track record for years. In fact I think it was the 918 that knocked it off the top but I could be wrong.
Edit: just looked and the last gen ACR stands at 7:12:13. Pretty fast for a car under $150,000 and quite a lot older than others above it. It also will have 100-150 horse less than the new generation ACR.

I love the new gt-r. I don't know how long the viper held the record for but that list silent bob linked is accurate

Bang for buck there is no competition, chuck another $100k at the Nissan and you'd destroy any off-the-shelf car around the ring.

Still have a soft spot for the Radical, for it's sheer crazyness!
 
gt-r always could keep up with the higher end cars that's why I always loved them. Always been one of my favorite cars

Correct. They where amazingly fast. Obviously NOT "crappy handling at high speeds". A quick look at the list puts it faster than cars many many times its price point. Koenigsegg?!?! Pagani?!?! Just look at that list :P. Crappy at high speeds my butt.


And I would pass on a GTR. Nice, yeah but no thank you. For that price Id prefer an older ACR and put a bit of money into it, have a car i actually control and out run the crap from that thing. heck Id grab a rossion Q1, have a rarer car, close specs, and still probably save money.

Rossion 0-60 3.2, 11.1 1/4 mile
GTR 0-60 2.8, 10.9 1/4 mile (using the 2013, go older and the comparison gets even closer)
if we add in the ACR it gets ugly considering its so much older. 3.3 0-60 and just over 11 sec for 1/4 but much higher top speed. the new one will be scary.
