Nissan is trying to jump in the ring too with the new gt-r. They want to compete with both Porsche and mclaren. The new viper idk if it will keep up. On paper it looks like it could but the last vipers had very crappy handling at high speeds. Even though the ring doesn't really have many fast sweeping turns.

I would say Nissan has done more then try to jump in the ring. I still feel thay own the ring with their lap time. A 7:08 for a 200,000 car to a 6:57 for a 850,000 is pretty scary.
