Glad your still here, noticed you changed your avatar, nice!
How's your tank doing?
Not Bad. Just added a Jewel cichlid and a male juvenile, sailfin molly wild caught. Found a roadside ditch a few minutes bicycle ride away, FULL of sail fin mollies.
Set my fish trap (plastic gallon jar with inverted funnels) caught the usual gambusia but not the cichlids or mollies I was after. So I went to wading with a small dip net.
This ditch takes a 90 degree under the highway, in a rectangular, underpass, just blindly drove them and netted. A new live plant, also. I ccleaned and clipped them and bound the ends with wire and anchored to a lead weight.
I have a true native tank. I don't quarantine and I have paid the price with ick and anchor worms and lost some. However, acquiring new stock is fun and my tank has stabilized and no sign of ick or worms.
My three methods of capture are a small cast net, dip net and my gallon jar, inverted funnels trap.
