206G Plywood Tank...Done - Part1

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanx.
I hope tomorrow to post new pics of the stand which I finished today-finally. I had a lot of non-project setbacks but stole a few hours here and there and blew through it. The Ehiem is running overnight so I can see how that goes.

Thanx for the info from West. Looks like all these guys are on the same page. This may actually make things a bit more costly for some folks because now they have to coat not only the inside but the outside as well. The best part is the tank would be completely encapsulated, which I like.

What I'm finding out with my tank is the final dress on the outside is becoming a challenge because of the layer of fiberglass. I'm working on it though.

Well, it's done. I still need to do a lot of cleanup on the rockwork and other stuff but at least I can take a break for a bit.

The second pic is the top with the coverboards removed. I decided to have a little fun and use some old stencils to number the boards. Then I drilled out some finger holes. Third shot is of the rt. bay with the electrical and lighting. Forth pic is of the rt. drawer with the filter.

In this set you can see both bay drawers open. Figuring out how to build those was by no means easy. Second pic is the tank on the stand. The outside of the tank hasnt been finished yet. Third pic is the tank filled with the filter running. The spraybar is temp. fixed to the crossbrace. I wanted to see how I could set up currents in the tank. Fourth shot is the filter on the outside. It will eventually go into the rt. bay drawer.

The one thing about the 2250 is that there is no easy way to disconnect the filter to clean it. Something else I'll have to figure out now.

I have some construction pics also.
