So I am just starting.

This is my first saltwater tank and I always thought journals were very helpful.

The tank has been running for about 3 weeks with only live sand in it at the moment.

Current equipment is:

Heater
-100w Hydor Theo heater

Filtration
- AquaClear 70 (running only sponge right now)
-AquaC remora nano protein skimmer (maxijet 1200 powerhead)

Lighting
-Solarmax H.O. 24" High output t5 lighting system
( 2x 24w bulbs with 4x moonlights)

Additional Flow
-Koralia nano 425gph pump

I just put live rock in the tank from tampa bay saltwater. I think I have seen a couple of small hermit crabs, a limpet, 2 curly cue anemones (I think) a couple of small crabs, a couple of small snails, and some cool looking worms.

Here are pictures of the tank while it cycles, then I will get the rest of the "package" from tampa bay saltwater when it is done. Let me know what you think so far!!

Im assuming you live in MD? <<<<
Go to the house of tropicals over in Glen Burnie MD, they have isle's and isle's of fresh and salt water fish!

Been there :)

Yeh, I try to get up there every couple of weeks, I am only about 45 minutes away.

Unfortunately im across the bay, so about an hour an 20 for me..
It's still defiantly worth the trip :)

Question...

I have a atlantic condy anemone (white, long tentacles, purple dotted tips) and what I think to be a flower rock anemone. They are both basically in the same spot, although the condy has moved around a bit. Just want to make sure they wont hurt each other.

Also, I wish they would kind of spread out, alt east to different sides of the tank, they are both in one corner. Is there any safe way to move them? (detach from rock and move)

i wouldnt move them. if they are not happy they will move on their own. but u could if u really want to.

Should I be feeding the anemones or peppermint shrimp anything? Or is whats in the tank good enough for now while it finishes its cycle?
