How many Rams you think i can get in a 20g? And would a Striped Raphael be okay to put in there with them? Let me know because a lady has a 20g in the paper for $10 comes with everything!!!

first of all never ever pass up a cheap tank second of all do not get a raphael catfish as they are extremely boring and you will never see them and I do not see a problem with 6 or 7 rams in a 20 you should also make it a heavily planted tank they would love that...

Well my Raphael "Hermes" Will need a new home because the Oscars and Silver Tips will pick on when they all get full grown but i suppose i could just put him in the African Cichlids tank. Would Corys go good with rams or how about a Syndontis? Also how do you tell the difference between Male and Female Rams?

found this on a site you...

Look at their dorsal fins. The first two spines are longer on the male. Males also show more color and grow larger. Females are stockier, plumper, and have blue spangles in that black blotch. Females also get a faint pink blush on their bellies at spawning time.

hope this helps...

How does this sound;
3 German Blue Rams, 1 male 2 female
4-6 Neon Tetras
1 striped Raphael
or
2-3 assorted Corys

that sound like a good 20g tank setup, live plants?

stick to neons man. I love the look of neons. If only i could have a 50,000 gallon tank, all the neons in the world would look nice :D

get like 7 rams and if you do, dont get just german blue, get gold rams also - it would look nice!! I did that with mine and if add's a little color.

Cardinals will not work with rams. Rams generally do well in a ph around 7.2, the cards. need acidic water somewhere in the 6.2 range.

I don't know about the cardinals, but I know my rams much prefer the low 7's (ph) more then they do the medium to high 6's despite everything I've read on them saying to keep them in acidic water (6.6 - 6.8 ph).
