Looking for some other opinions as I'm having a hard time actually visualizing lol. I purchased a juvie Flowerhorn from Thailand earlier this week and it is due to arrive in about a week. Plotting out my plan for where to put him, was planning on shuffling a fish or two to free up my up-and-running 40 long for him for now, but I do have a 20 long in storage not being used. According to the seller, my fish is about 4" in size. Think a 20 long is large enough to house him/her for a few weeks of quarantine (like, 3-4 weeks)? Or am I pushing it?

I think you'll be just fine as long as enough water replacements are done to keep the NO3 <5 ppm. 20 long should work for that period of time. Was thinking of getting a flowerhorn but the wife took one look at them and that was the end of that.

She says that they look like they have a prostate problem on their head. I tried to explain what it was, but it fell on deaf ears. To be fair she is really good at aquascaping but is tough to please when it comes to fish selection.

Well I agree. I have no interest in the "big head" FH that are all over the place, bloody stupid looking. I very selectively choose ones that aren't any bigger than you'd naturally get on a Midas or whatnot lol.

Was not aware that they would not develop the bulbous head. How do you select one that will not develop that as they grow later?
