Please someone help!!!

I am in the process of buying a brand new 210 gallon aquarium for $200 that has a deep chip inside one of the corners that holds the two glass sides together. The chip did not crack all the way. The chip cracked half way deep. The store recommends not to fill up with water b/c of the water pressure will cause the crack to expand.

I was planning on to buy the tank and re-seal up the crack with silicon. Do you guys think this plan is going to work or am I wasting my time????

THANK a BUNCH!!!!

I had a 20gal with a crack in the bottom from a friend. "been fine for years" As i finished filling it i heard a dull thud and a steady trickling. Never knew 20gal was so much water!

I had a 30 gallon tank with a crack in the bottom, I had to get rid of it. No matter what I did it leaked.

do you have way to post a picture of it?

Sorry i don't.

I had a crack on the bottom of a 39 tall, I bought a thin peice of 1/8" glass cut to the size of the bottom (the cheep stuff you can get cut at lowes), layed it flush on the bottom cracked pain of glass, sealed around the edges(which was flush with side panes), worked, and works fine, gave it to my nephew who still is using it.

Edit: I was asking OP if they could get pic of chip

Thank you everyone for your help. I don't have a picture of the actual tank b/c its still at the store but I found this picture on yahoo.com images that looks identical to the crack. The only difference is that the tank that I am buying, the crack is inside not outside like the picture below.

If you can brace it and silicone it properly it'll be fine.
