Why not!? I'll just keep updating this thread with how these guys are progressing.

Current stock-

5 exC. istlanum
4 P. splendida (supposed wild morph)
4 exC. festae
3 exC. bocourti
2 C. myrnae
1 C. godmani

Long term stock will hopefully be pairs of myrnae, istlanum, and festae, with a random bocourti, godmani, and snook thrown in. Who knows. I still need to add a couple bristlenose plecos and a scavenger catfish type.

Here they are when I got them 1/11. Istlanum, splendida, bocourti, godmani. Lost one godmani right off the bat, only fatality so far (I think. Istlanum are hard to count).

Today 2/8, almost a month.

Bocourti have grown the most by far.

Istlanum have grown the least. If they continue like this I'll have to pull them out because they'll get eaten by the snooks.

I've got three snook holding onto the wild type, one has gone yellow (not pictured).

The godmani is a pig but not growing near as fast as the bocourti, but I don't have any shots of it from tonight.

The four festae range from about 1" to 3", I got them at .5" a few months ago

The myrnae I picked up full grown, and they currently have wrigglers.

awesome. what are you planning to pick up for your scavenger catfish?

Now that you mention it they do look like grammodes. Which they better not be...would explain the slow growth though. They're supposedly the red variety. They came in at a very small size of an inch or a hair less, so they're just now starting to develop some characteristics. If they are grammodes that means half of the species I ordered from CichlidConnection would be wrong. :(

No idea on a good scavenger yet. Any ideas?

Good looking fish! For a scavenger, how about a small group of Hoplo Cats?

100% grammode

Yeah I finally got the lights turned on and they're grammodes for sure. Not cool. Tried calling Gage but his mailbox is full. The two main species I wanted for this tank are not what I bought. My "wild" morph snook are morphing and I've got grammodes instead of istlanum. Great! I could have bought both red snook and grammodes locally if I wanted them...
