This is the 135 that I replaced. It was a nice tank, all DIY, but it can't compare to the new one!

It now resides in the garage.

Any project that starts out with drilling holes through the foundation is going to be a fun one. :grinno:

Since the sump is under the living room I had to run about 20' of drain and return lines. I started by drilling holes for the plumbing and wiring through the foundation. I ran the plumbing through the joists to the sump and insulated them.

The tank now houses my TSN and P. niger, at least for another year or so.

I also have a 65 gallon hex with a DIY stand and light fixture that I plan to hook up to the system soon.

very nice. I like your aquascaping. that wood is awesome.

Thanks.

The grape wood is awesome stuff. It's dense, intricately grained, and full of hollows and holes. It came from a Napa Valley vineyard. I got it from a LFS.

Wow, great to see the magic behind your amazing setup.

That new stand and canopy are amazing!

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you see it as magic, it looks more like madness to most people!

Thanks, I am still amazed by it myself. :D

Here's a photo for the King of DIY, my temporary workbench I set up under a tent on my back porch:
