210 Gallon Tank Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Reviving this old thread, and an update on my tank.

There are 2 Bala sharks, 2 oscars, 1 Indo Datnoid, 1 red tailed sternella, 4 clown loaches, 1 peacock bass, and a royal knife fish. Overstocked? There still 6 inches and under. Could I add 2 more clowns?

It looks like a royal but I could be wrong. It's still at the 2 inch mark and it looks like stripes and not spots so i just thought it was a royal. If it passes 2 feet, I will move it.

My tiger oscar seems to be growing faster than his other tankmates and I am getting worried that he will hog the food and the others won't compete. I have the knife fish along with the peacock bass at only 2 inches while the tiger is at 5-6 inches. I want to put them together, but I cannot see that this is possible considering how fast the oscar is growing compared.

Oscars has fast growth-rate, 1-1.5" for a month, what's more you should prepare for that knife fish really if it's really a royal KF.

I own oscars, I will always own a pair of oscars for the rest of my life.......Try not to grow plants in an oscar tank......The o's love to dig.......What a plantless tank, try plastic plants in a small container to see if they dig up......Then, gradually add......But less is the best in an Oscar tank......I do not have substrate in my Oscar tank, its a bare tank......Looks clean and contempo when bare.........For cleaner fish, try a trio of gold nugget plecos......Gold nuggets do not grow to the 1foot+ marker range a commmon pleco grows...................

Hello, I've got a very similar setup with a 210, have 1 each tiger and albino Oscars, 6 bala sharks and a rhino pleco. All are pretty large at 10-14".. works well in my tank, have a sump plus a couple aquaclear 110's for filtration.

Good luck with your setup, show us some pics if you can!
