Ouch sorry to hear. Have you at least setup your water changes so you are putting in Primed water? (IE you aren't killing off you bacteria right?)

Seed from another tank, or patience grasshopper....

ok why the hell is my reading changing every days.....last few week i did some 35% w/c to bring the nitrate down a lil bit ( 150ppm) yesterday im already post my read....now my reading
ammonia 0.25ppm
nitrite 0 ppm
nitrate 20ppm
is this sound right or i need another test kit .i just got one test kit not so long ago (api) why my nitrate drop? i thought the nitrate should be higher when cycle done and ammonia should be at 0 with nitrite thanks

man .....when the tank is gonna be done cycle???? more than a month already
ammonia .25ppm
nitrite .25ppm
nitrate 80ppm

Do you have some existing tanks? If so, take some old tank water and dump it into the new tank.

Personally, I've never been that conservative about cycling.. I just start off with a small load and gradually ramp up the population. I'll seed the new tank with some established tank water and/or media and let it rip...

No need to do a water change for nitrates with feeder fish. You only need to do it if your ammonia level is above 2.0, nitrites usually won't get out of hand. Good luck. BTW, it can take up to 8 weeks to cycle a tank without seeding it.

Try scoping a bowl of gravel from your 75 and place it next to one of the over flows (leave it in the bowl) and then remove it when you ammonia and nitrite are zero. Then do small water changes, I'm a big fan of these verses large ones.

finally its done
ammonia oppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate 40ppm
i just did 40-50% water change .and adding 8 fish....when can i add all the fish ...how can i tell if the bio can handle the load....thanks

well, it will take time for it to handle a lot. If you add too much at first it will crash and you will have to start all over again. I would wait and keep checking now that you added more fish and see how it works for a week or so...

I am in favor of no plants.

Just curious why you would not want any plants? I would think the bottom of a lake would have some at least...I just changed my tank a lot I will be interested to see what you think Mike when I am done. Should be able to take some pics tonight or tomorrow...

I love the rocks BTW. I am now in search of something like those...I only have flat rocks right now, but I like that look much more...

Cant wait to see this thing fully loaded:headbang2
