and i thought about painting the background black but wat if i wanted to put a diff background on it in the future.

idk if i have engough room for me to get behind the tank with a paint brush.
would i be able to use a roller instead to apply it. and wat type of paint should i use?
flat black or gloss?

i would use a gloss and any gloss black rustoleum paint is fine.. that is what i used... its going to look bad the first coat, but after the second it will look like all one piece. go light on the paint.. lighter coats are better and try to wait for it to dry before adding the second coat 
i'm a big fan of black backgrounds but your tank looks good the way it is.
