Ouch. I just read the whole thing, my chest is squeezing thinking about it! How do you plan for something like that? It seems eventually a tank full of water will fail.
I think I might do some kind of garage set up with a drain in the middle of the room and a sloping floor to the drain. (dream)
I do have a shop vac on stand by and a huge industrial fan. Unfortunately I use these all too often.

This is crazy, when I read this and another thread, I though of your fish room.omg it makes us all think of a backup plan right

It was honestly always in the back of my mind. But it slowly went away with each day it was setup. I even moved 18 months ago and paid my lfs to move it for me because they guarentee the tank and livestock. Everything was perfect until...well you know. Fyi it was funny in deuce bigalow......not so funny in real life.
 
Man....I feel just terrible for your situation. Having your first kid is stressful enough, ESPECIALLY when he's only 2 months old and probably still needing middle of the night attention. I think the first year after our first child was born was the single hardest time in my marriage, for both me and my husband. The stress is extreme on everyone. Add in the breaking of a 220 to the mix and I can only imagine. Hang in there, both of you.
