220 Gallon Custom Glass Aquarium

Ive been running this setup for about 2 years now. I didn't add the fridge, canopy, and wet/dry till about 1 year ago.

Tank: 7' Long 2' tall and 2' wide. 220 Gallon (or calculations say 209)
3 holes with bulkheads, 2 are 1" and the other is 1/2".
I removed the glass center piece because it was too big and never wanted to stay in place, so i had a friend weld two metal supports that run along the top. I painted them with two layers of paint to prevent rush and they have worked very well. I have 4 glass tops for the tank, but doesn't cover the middle of the tank just all 4 corners. The glass has mild scratches (nothing deep) but when it is full of water it looks fine. Whoever build this tank use alot of aquarium sealer. It looks like too much, so i assume the hold is pretty strong, but the pilars that hold up the canopy block the view of it.
The best part about this tank is that it has no back, i designed the stand to be the same way so you can actully walk around the entire tank and view from every angle. It is perfect for in the middle of a room or to devide a room.

Stand: Built it about 2 years ago out of 4x4s and sprayed with primer.
It has proven to be a very strong stand and i haven't had any problems with it. I added the side panels and fridge about a year ago. Shorty after i added the pilars, canopy and trim around the entire tank and fridge. All of the black paint is an high gloss acrylic enamel in pure black, to give it a shine and protect it. I use all types of bottle caps (soda, beer, liq, water, sake, etc) to trim the stand. They can be kept on or easily taken off. This entire setup was custom built by me, so feel free to ask any questions about it.

Filtration: The Wet/Dry setup is from Sea Clear. I have about a trash bag and a half worth of bio balls/pot scrubbies in it. I use 1/2" pvc to build a platform that the two bioballs chambers sit on top off to make more space to add alot more bioballs/potscrubbies (I have a tone of pot scrubbies in this setup, i believe they work alot better then bio balls). I build a plastic canvas to hold the carbon that fits perfectly in the section of the wet dry right before the pump. Each of the three section has a lid to reduce noise and the sump has 3 bulkheads on the side if u wanted to run an external pump or add on to the setup.

I used a medium sized power head to pump water from the bottom of the tank up to the UV sterilizer , then to the fludized bed filter and back into the tank. UV sterilizers makes the water crystal clear but some people say it has its pros and cons. If you plan to use it, id buy a new bulb. I personally blieve adding the fludized bed filter (sand filter) to the setup, improved the quality of the water more then any other unit i have used. Once i added it and the bacteria began to form, you could see how much cleaner the water was and all of the algae that used to grow on the pvc was gone, leaving them a cleaner white then when i bought them. I highly recommend FBF on any fish aquarium.

The pump used for the setup is a Rio 3100. Orginally i used the 2 1" bulkheads as drains and the 1/2" bulkhead as a return line, but the pump returns the water faster then it can drain. I used to have a % recycle back into the wet/dry but you could use the 1/2" bulkhead as a drain too which should improve filtration. Since the pump was to strong i added 2 40 gallons to the setup for some time, which even out the drin to return ratio.

The filtration on this setup worked great, never had any problems keeping the water clean. At one point i had a 30" silver arowana, 24" hybrid catfish, jardini, black arowana, and 2 large oscars in this tank and the water was still crystal clear and easily maintained.

Reason for selling: My large 30" silver aro passed, so i finally took the time to finish the setup so i can sell and upgrade. My leichardti needs a larger setup.
I have build several fish aquariums over the years, all custom for myself or for friends. There is a picture of a 250 gallon that i sold last year and would be the most recent tank i custom built to sell.

Included: Aquarium, stand, canopy, fridge, wet/dry w/ bio balls and tubing/pvc, rio 3100 pump, 402 powerhead, med powerhead, Uv sterelizer, fludized bed filter, 6' light, larger heater, and i have some air pumps if you need one.

Since the tank is glass it is very heavy, takes about 5 or more guys to move it, the stand isn't so bad, and they can all be seperated from eachother for trasnportation. Tank is located in 91748, feel free to come look at it.

Thank you for your time.

ttt for tokay. seen the setup in person and it is nice. you've got a pm.

I would of considered buying it, if it had a built in dishwasher and oven.

dishwasher and oven? no problem. The oven might be to hot though. I honestly was thinking about using a fridge that holds a keg and putting a tap on the other side. Then it would be perfect
