2 weeks of holding water??

was this a newly built/purchased tank, or a second hand?? if its the former, you can be reassured that wherever you got the tank from should be replacing it, and paying for any damages caused. especially if what you mean by "the silicon is lighter" was the bead of silicon was smaller at one end than the other. that indicates horrid workmanship..

on a side note..... call a restoration company or pick up the carpet you have down and let fans and tons of air get between the pad and floor and carpet and pad for atleast 24-48 hours. without the carpet, padding and floor underneath being fully dried, your going to run into serious mold/mildew issues. im a floor mechanic by trade, so trust me, ive seen it.

yea the silicone was solid where it was i bought it used from a friend he never put water in it but he also bought it used its homemade. i left in the garage for about 2 weeks with water in it nothing happened. as far as the floors go the insurance adjuster is coming out today and im going to get serv pro out to to a whole resto on the floors and walls because there saturated.

I feel your pain; I've already had 2 approx.100g spills in my secondfloor livingroom. came home after christmas to a cold tank because of a dead heater and stupidly poured in hot water; front pane split right across from where there was a corner chip and had a waterfall flowing down my stairs....living with the buckled wood floor, I'll sand it eventually...

OMG sorry to here you lost such a beautifull fish m8, i would seriously get that whole tank resealed its not that hard to do yourself really, justtake the whole thing apart give all the glass a good clean then put it all back together, build some wooden frames to fit around the tank so it stays in place whilst the silicone sets. Atleast this way you can drop the bottom to the proper level too, also the great feeling you will get from actually fixing such a nice tank. Alternativly contact the bloke you got it from and get your money back then go buy a new 1 ;)

ughhh im so sorry to hear that bro. I am praying more and more lately my tanks hold although I only have one used tank and ofcourse its the biggun.... :(

well the insurance adjuster comes out tomarrow and well see what he has to say so far its all the wood floors ,carpet, some drywall work, kitchen cabinets are starting to split, so idk what there going to replace but hopefully everything that needs it . on a good note i traded a 4x8 trailer i payed $75 for ,for a 120 gal oceanic tank, stand , strip light , 3 high intencity bulbs, mag. 350 filter, wave 2k thingie? 12 gal bio cube , and stand for it plus a bunch of realy nice fake coral. and im going to reseal this tank befor its in the house....lol
