This is true. Plus a king-sized waterbed only holds at most 175 gallons which is about 400 lbs lighter.

Plus a water bed is distributed over more floor area... I have seen a king size water bed set up on paper dixie cups.....

Water weight only...
In a WB 7-9 inches of water deep. That's only about 50 pounds per sq foot...
A tank at 20 inches deep is ~ 110 pounds per sq foot
A tank at 30 inches deep is ~ 165 pounds per sq foot

Water is ~ 5.5(6) pounds per sqft per inch deep; if you assume an evenly distributed stand.

Now add for stand, glass(acrylic), hood, light, filter, decorations, etc. & fish.

Its going to be just fine. I have been on job sites and have had my part in building homes. I would personally put a 350 gallon tank in a house with a sub floor and be perfectly confident. Houses are built to handle that weight. You guys have seen where cars have come crashing through house and never gone through the floor, small planes have crashed into houses, and where do they stop? At the floor. You will be fine.

Lets think about this for a minute, you want the tank in the basement but your stairs make a 90 and you don't think it will turn the corner. Is this a 72" tank? If it is then can you carry the tank down and then stand it up on its end and make the turn? If its a 96" tank then that maybe a different story. Is this a possability?

Sorry for your situation...let me help :D , lets just ship the tank to my house, where there is no 90 degree turn to worry about, and I'll set it up in MY basement (just let me move my couch out of the way...there we go, plenty of space- honey, don't worry about the couch in the hall...the cushions will be better on our joints, you know less stress walking on the padded couch then the floor and all)...

JUST HURRY AND SHIP IT BEFORE MY WIFE FINDS OUT!!!

That would solve all our problems, give me your tanks!

It's a win-win-win, you no longer have to stress about upstairs, 90 degree turns etc, I get a bigger tank in my living room (next to the 72 inch 125), and you get the warm fuzzies that you helped your "fellow man" (namely me) out, come on, what to you say, deal!

pm me for the shipping address!

lol or you could send it to me and ill trade for a 150 lol

Yeah, but then the "warm fuzzies" from helping ME out won't be there-

Just ship the tank...and heck maybe some of your fish to me! That'd be awesome!

I agree... :) CargR can fit it in his basement then move his 125 upstairs and put the 220 where the 125 was on the oter side of the wall from his 180 LOL
