220 Tanganyika Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is one sick setup, bro. :headbang2

220 Tang is where it's at....

Are you worried about the fronts making chow of the other guys in there some day? I've never kept fronts, but heard stories.

Nice you should try to find some Black calvus also they would be a great addition IMO

I have thought about it, but read that they are rough on shell dwellers. The Compressiceps I bought were housed with the Daffodils in a 55, so I am comfortable with them in the 220. I might check out some Calvus, but would need to thin out the Fronts before that. I am afraid it will get too crowded as they grow.

Thanks dude!

I am not too concerned, but I will keep a close eye on them as they grow. I have seen a lot of tanks with Fronts mixed with much smaller fish. Plus the Leleupi are pretty tough like guys. I don't have much experience with the Birchardis, but hear they will be fine if they have hiding places.

Bad news....my deal on the three new Neolamprologus Leleupi is a bust. That sucks. I really like the one I have; his color adds flair to the tank. I never see them in a LFS. I can order them online, but its in the middle of winter. I will figure out something.

Nice looking setup!

Thanks Bobby..

A couple of days ago, I added the new Tang fish from this thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=378132

They mixed in with the Fronts with no problem. Its kinda funny, the Daffodils are tiny compared to the Fronts, but they don't mind taking center stage right in the middle of the tank. I will post some new pictures later on today.

My attempts to get some good shots of the new stock were spotty at best. But I was able to get some good shots of Leleupi and Frontosa.

Out of about 60 pictures. This is the best one for the new stock.

I did have some good luck this evening. I went to Arts in Motion (LFS in Marion, IN) and found 2 Leleupi in stock. I got them both for $12. It was the same price I would have paid the breeder had the deal not been a bust. Picture Perfect (another LFS in Marion) had one in stock, but it was $14. Pretty strange, I never seen them at LFS and today I found 3!

I will add them to the 220 after a week in my quarantine tank.

Impressive set up and stock list! I am humbled...
