-in the 220g, theres 2x regular 1" dursos, in a toothless 8" overflow box
-and in the 180g, I had some bottom dwellers so I wanted the dursos to pick up from the bottom, so I extended the dursos pick up to the bottom of the tank, and since it seemed risky to have that plumbing in the tank without an overflow box I connected them together with a crossover pipes to reinforce each other
-its a drilled glass tank and since it had holes drilled I was going to use them, -the single hole on the other side is for water changes
-the only thing noisy in either tank was the returns, since I had them above the water line so they splashed and bubbled the water
