HI,

I came into a nice 220g. I am toying with the idea of rays, but have no idea if the tank is big enough. I would like an idea of what species would live comfortably in the 220g.

Thank you in advance,
Whit

id say a hystrix but its still pushing it, as fare as comfort goes. u can always grow them out then send them my way. :)

a motoro will NOT be good in a 220gal for life... they get 24-30in disc size not counting the tail....

It will be ok for about 8months maybe a year, but you need ATLEAST a 30" wide footprint.

For pair Hystrix and Retric should be OK. Go with 48x48 foodprint...

I would say a hystrix would be ok or even a florida ray even though they are truely marine they stay around 10 in freshwater and there are known freshwater populations in the st.johns river and if you are willing to do plenty of water changes due to the smaller amount of water then I think you will b fine, provided you have proper filtration as well
