Awesome!

I assume silk with plastic stems.
Can you purchase these at a craft store?
How do you hang them from the top?

Thanks!
Yes plastic stems. I bought them here http://www.1888flowermall.com/

I used a piece of latice channel from home depot to run across the top of the tank and then wire ties to hold the plants. All the plants can be pulled out at once it needed by grabbing the latice channel. The glass tops hold the channel in place.

My favorite thing about the tank can't been seen in the pictures, that's the plants flowing in the current. It brings the whole aquascape to life.

WOW, this is just amazing! Now I surely have an aim for myself :D At the moment I'm thinking about an Oscar tank, maybe with 1 or 2 fishes, I was thinking to get some really tough natural plants, but now I'm reconsidering that! Great setup!

That is a great looking setup. Very nicely done!!

Amazing setup, but not big enough.

1 oscar = 50 gallons minimum.
5 oscars = 250 minimum with 300 being preferable.

Minimum water = Maximum maintenance

Oh, and 30% will not be enough with that high stocking level. I would say 2 - 80-90 percent changes per week.

There is a lot of speculation about the tank size needed for oscars. I would say 50gal is not enough for one, but rather 75gal after the intial 75gal you don't nesecarlly need 50 each. I agree I'm probably at the limit. I would have put in a bigger tank but that was the biggest tank that would fit.

The 30% water changes are fine for now, the O's are still juvi's at 3-4" and nitrates haven't gone over 15. I over filter with plans to add even more. The water change system is adjustable to do as much at 55% at a time up to 7 times a day, 7 days a week. I wouldn't do water changes that often, the point being is it was designed to be scalible to handle the bio load. It wasn't designed to be that scalible but the equipment I used can support that frequency. It can't do more than 55% at one time as a safety feature for keeping the tank from completely draining. I wouldn't recommend doing a 80-90% water change, you're better off doing several smaller ones. As the fish mature I'll probably change to a smaller daily water change.

very pretty oscars they'll be nice in that tank once they get big.

I disagree.... 30% a week will be more than plenty until the Os are big enough to start producing a higher bio-load. 80-90% a week is overkill for any tank, if you are having to do that much a week, you need a bigger tank period. Unless you have a constant WC set up.
