223 and 308 rifle questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The AR is cool but if you have the pistol grip then you need the clip to be pulled out by the separate tool, being we can only have 10 round mags it dosnt sound appealing to me at all.

Me sure to stock up on the Zombie ammo! I'm bummed kinda...they don't make it for my rifle. I bought an M24/47 just for a cheap accurate gun. It's a bolt action that holds 5 shots...just carry a hip bag of ammo and keep putting more in it as they walk out of the forest. LOL.

My ideal gun is an M1 Garand..I'd like to have a real nice one, but they are way out of my price range. I just like the nostolgic look of the old WWII long guns. It really depends on personal taste as much as what it's good for or what it's intended use is. I just wanted a cool gun with range adjustable iron sights that would be as accurate as my eye. If I ever miss a shot...it won't be the rifle's fault. ;)

Fun topic.

lol just found out their is a gun show in town, not buying a gun today but pry a couple knives, makes up for my Ontario knife not showing up yesterday, see ya......

I joined the firearmsforum for some more info a bit faster, seems like a great gun spot.

Thanks guys for your replies, keep it going if you want, Im for it.

kind of diggin on this, lots of good reviews, seems to have affordable rounds as well, how are these rounds compared to 223? http://www.riflegear.com/showproduct.aspx?ProductID=803&SEName=saiga-rifle-762x39&variantid=1107

This would be the rifle you want IMO... Not sure on how to compare 7.62x39 to 5.56/.223... they are very different with different purpose in mind. Many will say .223 is more accurate and maybe it is to some point, but the 7.62x39 packs more punch for the ranges you are more likely to find the rifle useful.

I love my "tacticooled" Kel Tec SU16C (5.56/.223):

Here's how they look out of the box (minus the 30 round mag)

Get an M1A its in your price range and is chambered in 308 while not having a pistol grip so you can have a higher cap mag.

I dont remember saying the M1A is in my range lol, maybe I did hell, they start at around 1400 though, uhg.

To be honest, I was at the gun show today and people keep drilling the ARs in my head, I guess the bullet button isn't so bad, hell IDK.

Seems if you wanted to bug out and had lots to cary, an AR would be easier, IDK.

For a bug out bag a kel tec would be better then. They are light and they fold up.
