great job with stain, looks perfect. never seen a tank cycled with an aro!
THanks
Black aro to boot!

Nah I used at least 80% cycled water. I was collecting water for a week doing partial water changes. the siphon in the photo is water coming directly from the 90 gallon tank.

Surprised no comment on the Comet. I used him to cycle a 20 gallon tank almost 2 years ago. I kept him as a dither for my EBJD, the EBJD would constantly pick on the goldfish and tear off fins and scales. Then I transferred them to my 90 gallon, and they became like lovers.. they are constantly side by side all day long. swim together, lay together touching fins..its really weird..now hes made it to the 225. I feel bad getting rid of it at this point, I feel my EBJD would be lonely haha

How happy are you with the quality of the tank, stand and canopy? I was very close to ordering a 240 or 280 at one time, but I have heard/read mixed reviews from glasscages...

Im stoked! I love the tank...so far at least. It was a long process sanding and staining the tank. The weather was crappy so I did it all indoors..:nilly: The tank seems to have overkill support, but I like that. 240 or 280 would be great! Do it! I think this is the largest size I can fit in my condo!

Stellar job man! I need to get off my butt and skin the stand for my 300g/stain it. Yours came out great, thanks for adding pics of the finished results.

just for the benefit of others there is no such thing as cycled water. filters are what is cycled. there might be a small amount of biological bacteria free floating but it can't hang out in water for a week. bio bacteria grows on filter media and tank walls and decorations.

awesome tank, nice choice of stain.

Gorgeous color on the stain my friend.
