225 gallon tank stocking help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think there is a very good chance the Jardini will kill the oscars eventually. They get crazy after about 12". Can be mixed with mean fish in very big tanks, but Oscars are not very mean and 225 is about bare minimum for a jardini. Personally I'd skip the O's, keep the silver dollars if you want tankmaktes for it. They are quicker and smaller targets, the O's are big slow pushovers.

Yeah I think you should either do the jar or the oscars, if you do the oscars then you could add some other SA cichlids, if you do the jar I would do something that can hold its own like CA cichlids like veja, jags, amphilophus ect but it really can be hit and miss. I would do the jar as you can have oscars in smaller tanks but not an arowana. Good luck!

What about a stingray like a motoro or something

You could try a stingray but it would be an exspensive loss if the jar kills it, I would go with a smaller species for that tank
