Ok,
So as many people on here my plans continue to change for future tanks. In a couple months I will be moving to a new house and purchasing a tank. Plans have gone from a 500 to 125 to now thinking either a 220 or 225gallon. Down the road I will likely build a giant wooden monster tank in the basement, but the current purchase is for the family room. Price wise a perfecto RR 220 and a Deep Sea Aquatics RR 225 tank are essentially the same price (within $100 of each other). The differences that I can figure is that the perfecto dimensions are 72x24x30 with corner overflows, and the Deep Sea is a 72x27x27 with a large center overflow. I like the look of the 30" high tank, but the extra foot print of the 225 is tempting. I'm not planning on housing anything huge in the tank, maybe a frontosa would be the largest or royal pleco. The other thing is I am not too familiar with the Deep Sea brand and have not found too much long term feedback about them. If you had to pick which would you choose? Thanks for any feedback.

Myself I would get the 72x27x27. Either will be nice but that would be my choice of the two. Also with the frontosa you should look into getting some geos.

The 72x27x27 would be slightly easier to clean, but other than that, it wouldn't make too much of a difference to me if the largest fish going into it will be fronts. I have a Perfecto 220, and it is a pain to reach the floor of the aquarium when I need to (even with a 3 foot step ladder), but I guess 3 inches would probably not make a huge difference there anyway.

I already have some red-head Tapajos...current water has a ph of over 8 right out of the tap, so I may do the forbidden and mix African, SA, and CA (sajicas)...lol

yeah I've had a 220 and a 265 and reaching the bottom to move a rock or decoration can be a pain...lol

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I'll be going with the 225 unless something bigger and used comes up in my area. Who knows down the road it gives me the option to put something bigger in the tank than the 24" width of the 220. Plus I was looking at 3d backgrounds and they are cheaper for the lower height tanks...lol

I would do the DSA 225. But mainly only because I have this tank and absolutely love it! Just my 2¢
