recently i found out my water company is using chloramine in our water....

so my 24/7 New Water Drip System need to be revised abit.

i was thinking using a NH2CL (Chloramine) Filters .. but the ammonia by product is the down side..

after talking to JohnPTC about his chemical setup ... i went and order the similar setup.

my question is do i need my aged water barrel?

current setup

Tap -> sediment filter -> aged water barrel -> tanks

revised setup with a dosmatic (autodoser)

tap -> sediment filter -> dosmatic -> aged water barrel -> tank

or

tap -> sediment filter -> dosmatic -> tank

you can use the barrel as a preheater :)

less cold water in the tanks and and moves alot of the heating work to the barrel.....aeration is also always good makes sure you are at max oxygen before it goes into the tanks. my 2 cents

could you give a description as to how the dosmatic works..??
is this something that you made or is it a product...??

I am in the process of designing a system like this and could use some help...

one of the main problems that i am having is the fact that i have extremely hard water out of the tap and the ph is in the 8's...., way way off the chart...

does any body have any reccomendations on how to get it down to a more acceptable level..., like in the 6's????

I have a R/O unit......, and right now i mix about a 1/4 to third R/O water in with my strait aged tap water.....

any help would be much appreciated...

li I mentioned to you last night I thought it would be a good idea to keep it A for reasons johnptc mentiond and too make sure system is fine tuned and all that good stuff.....
