240 (8x2x2) stocking ideas

Thats part of the reason im also looking at restocking. I was a di-hard reef guy for about 9 years...then katrina wiped out my tanks and I took a 3 year brake. Then I wanted to get back into fish but wanted to go back to fresh like I had before salt...but still had my reef mentality (and some equipment). So I made a wetdry for this tank...and its over kill really...and the stand is sealed so it grows mold, I know I could fix that with fans but I dont want fans and holes in the doors...and theres no room for extra top off water so it evaps and sucks air constantly...and I want the room the big ol overflows are taking up...and the power went out the other day and it overflowed onto the floor even tho I had safe guards in place and that promoted the wife to convince me to get this project rolling. So I just want 2 fx5's on it.

You beat me to it! With an 8' footprint, a pair of some larger central Americans would be very cool. Pair of Umbee, festae, Bocourti , or even dovii would make quite a display.....
technically umbee and festae are SA lol but yeah umbee pair would be pretty nice in that tank if your ok with just having a pair, i personally like the look of a nice community much better though...
Oops. Meant to type south/ central American. My bad. Typing one handed on an iPhone leaves alot to be desired lol
I have thought about just a pair of umbies or dovi because id really like to have those fish and my 240 is the only tank big enough to try that. But all my other tanks are mostly just pairs (festaes oscars rtm yellow head freddy ornatums and so on) so I want a community type setup for at home.
