Nice Tank Scull!!

Thanks Tongue! Do you have any ideas or ideas you have used that worked well with Pb's? This tank will be my center piece so I want it to look Over the top!

Nice, man! 3M colorquartz for the black "sand" all the way. Hopefully, I can get this 210 I found.

I would go spendy right away...

You can build a sump.. But I would have it drilled and buy a real pump ;)

for 240-300.00 YOu will save money after a coupel months use...

Sequence dart pushes more water at higher head than any equally submersible.. And runs at half the wattage or paower.. Hence your elctric bill for your pump alone is half of what it would be with your standard mag drive or submersible..

This is about 100-150.00 more than a mag 24-34 and about 100.00 more than 2 mag 12's.. And would be the same as getting 3 mag 12's ;)

igf you are going DIY :D My opinion is go all the way.. I built my system from pretty much scartch if you remember my DIY thread..

My sump was no different.. I went with a mag 24 and I wish i would have spent the extra 100.00 on a Dart.. Mainly because of reliability and power consumption now..

I worry about my mag drive pump when it acts up or makes funny noises.. I usually mess with it til it is good again.. But still.. Adn plus I don't really worry about floods due to water level's are good...

If you are strapped right now.. i would definitely have 1 or 2 AC 110's ;)
My breeding tank is ran by ONE ;) Not my choice but I had extra's and am low on flow...

OH!! And right away go spend 20-60 bucks on some wood and build a canopy ;) More light in your tank and less light all over your room ;)

In my opinion.. Like Boosten's I believe in Sump filtration ;) And event eh simplist sump will decimate a canister or hob.. mainly becasu even the largest Fluval fx5 is limited when it comes to media... In a 55 you can pile media to the end of the world if that's your thing,....

My main suggestion is GOOD FLOW ;) If you have a good return the flow of your water will hit every corner of your tank..

But anyway... Babble babble... i could go on for days on things i want and woudl like to experiment with..:D

Thanks Paul. Yea I will shop that around for you also and let you know what I come up with. Is it drilled?

So Is the little Giant in any comparison to the Sequence dart?

They are reliable ;) I see people selling little giant sfor good amoutn and they are 20 years old!! People buy em up around here..

But I don't know how big a one you would need... As I don't see many over 1000 gph....

And I don't know about noise...

That is the other BIGGIE :) if it is loud you do not want it!!!!!
:D:D

Which model were you looking at?

I am really going to take my time so money is no problem, I do have an itch to get it done! I am going to start next month on the stand I drew out the blue prints already finished that this weekend. I am using black marble as the base and the stand will have a Roman look. Had to scrap the ped/column idea way to much cash and no real room to store anything= no filtration.

I was thinking of running a 1/4 inch pvc cut in half along the top of the tank angled back towards the pvc returns to the drip plate's. I would cover the top of the 1/4 pvc with mesh to keep out uneaten food. What do you think should it work? Run one on each side at the top. Will that work? I want a very clean look inside almost no distractions!

Tongue the canopy is a must! I fell you 100% on that. I am going to duplicate one I already have. With a few mod. to conceal all tubes and wire's.

Well the largest Little giant I foudn was rated 2250 at zero head...And pushed max of 445 watts...

Compared to the 3600 @ zero for the Dart that boasts a max of 160 watts i believe ;)

I was looking at maybe stepping it up to something like 1300gph. But the LG i have now is 934gph @ 1'' head. I have that on my 150g M/R.
