Beautiful setup! Looks great! I just have a quick suggestion for some tankmates....a few tinfoil barbs would look great in that tank. They would add some great movement to the tank and are excellent cleaner/dither/target fish....and great job on the stand... 
Six years later glasscages on a 240 is double the price. Got to love Amerikan Capitalism (greed)
What is the thickness of your finish, is it the same all over ?
Also I'm a bit confused on something. In one photo it shows your 2x4 frame is flat, like on the bottom. Yet in another photo with the finish wood on the bottom, it appears to have a higher height, how is that possible ? If 2x4 then the bottom would be 1.5 inch but the finish wood put over it appears to be much taller. I tried to see if the wood was overlapping but it doesn't appear to be.
