Correct it is pool filter sand, from a local pool supply, And It was a Pain in the BUTT to get clean!

Your tank looks really great as it is right now, that piece of driftwood really sets the tank off, but if i'm to be picky, could i suggest maybe one to three more large leafed plants like annubias to add to the overall effect...
