I wouldn't want to be in your position, that dovii is absolutely beautiful. However, if the boss will only allow you to have one tank then I would go with a community. Your tank is beautiful and it looks like it is made to have several fish in there chasing each other.

I'm not sure what kind of filtration you have but do you have room to put a tank under the 240? I doubt it is an option but I just wanted to throw it out there. Any chance on keeping a tank in the garage of the new house (if it has a garage)?

On a side note, I hope my dovii end up looking as nice as yours. He looks awesome! If you do end up having to get rid of him I hope you are able to find him a good home.

all your fish are beautiful, especially the dovii. if i was forced to choose i would pick the dovii, but they are my favorite fish. Have you considered getting rid of the wife. lol.

or you could just not listen to the wife and get another tank. this might sound crazy but i lived in a one bedroom apartment and had 3 tanks in the front room and 2 in the bedroom. as much as my wife bi**hed about it i couldnt get rid of them. now we have a 2 bedroom apartment with the extra room being my fish room. 125g,125g,110g (6ft) 75g,75g,55g,55g,20g long, 35g hex.:nilly: am i crazy.....???:screwy:

You guys are hilarious. Maybe my mudroom in the new house can become a fishroom?

In my house when you walk in the front door, there is a small sitting room to the left. That's what I claimed from the beginning as my fish room. The agreement was I get two walls and she gets to put her chaise lounge on the window wall to read and get on her laptop. I can't use the walk-in closet or dining room to run extra tanks in anymore hahaha. I guess my point is, is there a small room that you can claim as your own space to keep just two tanks in? One just isn't enough.

Seriously, When I wanted my 1032 gallon pond I asked my wife-and animately she said NO!! We argued quite a while-you know what I did?
I dropped it and a year later without any warning brought a large pond and put it in my backyard-she was mad for awhile then got over it-now she loves the pond! Get another 240 gallon-your wife will get over it. Tell her this "there are worse things you could be using your money on" LOL!

I thought the dovi stayed at the school you worked at

He did, but I had to sell the tank. The closeness of the vote reflects the difficulty of my decision. I am going to sell the dovii to a guy in Sacramento it looks like. He is giving me $100. It is just temporary as I will be turning my mud room into a fish room. I will have one again. It sucks, but I really enjoy my community tank. Thanks for all the input guys. Don't be mad at me dovii lovers, this was tough. I will be getting one again soon.

I hate that you have to get rid of the dovii but I understand your decision. Hopefully the new owner has a nice big aquarium waiting on him.
