240 stock ideas...

I think a lot of what you're going to get is too common, but that's just my opinion. Its too easy to find a silver aro, mono pbass and clown knife. Instead of a silver aro, I'd get a leichardtI if I could find one, a kelberi or xingu instead of a mono, and a royal ck instead of a regular one. Or instead of any ck, I'd get a big thinbar dat or some nice geos.

You spent all that money on a tank, you might a well stock it with some rate fish too. Thats what I would do with a 240.

Im a big royal ck fan but I've never had one. Probably wont get one for a while either. I'm afraid my ck is too old introduce another knife and I don't want them on more than one tank.

Aro's will get to big for that tank, as well as any other rays beside Retics, and Hystrix, other than Pbass sound alright, as well as additional gars.

How do peacock bass behave? I don't know much about them. Are they actually related to regular bass?

I have 3' wide and I would never keep the fish you suggested because 1. everyone and their mother has those fish on this site. and 2. they are all pretty expensive fish and if they were to die its money down the drain.

CA/SA cichlids are colourful active and very robust. you could have a bunch of them in there. if you wanted to add cichlids with the stocking you suggested I would go with Severums, chocolate cichlids, true parrot fish, large relatively peaceful cichlids that won't harass your other fish and cause problems.

unfortunately a 8x2x2 is about as useful as 6x2x2 because once the fish reach around 15"-20" the 24" width will make them very crampt and limited in their movement.
You could always also consider a huge kick ass african cichlids tank, tonnes of colours in there.
