unless you stand is a peice of **** i wouldnt worry about it falling over

So your saying a stand that is not a "peice of ****" will keep it from falling in an earthquake?

People should use these stands that are not a "peice of ****" for everything in the house, that way they wouldn't even have to worry about earthquakes. ;)

They should make bridges out of these stands, and use these for bases of houses and buildings.

Of course it can fall over.

As its been said, in a quake it can and probably would fall over easily if the quake is of a decent proportion. Your talking about a huge amount of weight over 2000lbs and if that water starts shifting in a quake its gonna have enough momentum from the waves alone to knock it off possibly. I hope your not trying to put it on the 2nd story of anywhere because it WILL crash through the floor. Make sure your stand is perfectly level if your building it and definately strap it to the wall. It would be better for you with a 240 tall to build your stand shorter to the ground if you build it to keep the center of gravity lower in case of a quake just fyi. Better safe then sorry ~Trent

Howdy,

I wouldn't "strap" the tank to the wall but rather anchor the stand on the wall with some serious screws. I doubt the tank will move off the stand during a quake. If it does, the tank will the least of your problems that day...
