I am def ordering some fish today from live fish direct...they have what I want in stock 2-3" yellow labs and acie's. I'll prob go with 4 yellows and 6 acie's....maybe a 2-3" venustus and maaaybe a 3.5-4" fryeri...for now. I will have them tomorrow! That should be a good start right...hope that safestart works lol. I can always squeeze some sponges from my pond if it dont. I want to test it out tho....
 
I got the safestart today and ordered some fish...but they wont get shipped till monday to receive on tuesday :( O well gotta wait more lol. I picked up 6 acei's 4 yellow labs 1 venustus 1 hap ali and 1 blue dolphin. I hope I didnt over do it :D
 
Now that I got my heater in the water I thought I would show yall the temp graph over the last 5 days. I dont think I am going to have any heat problems...matter of fact I think the lights are going to help the heater out a lot when they are on. I only have a single 300w heater in the tank its its going to work out fine I think. Before the heater was in the water never even got warm enough for the fish...76 maybe.

Heres the breakdown

"A" is before the heater when the lights would come on and off

"B" is when the probe was on the floor and in fresh cooler tap water when I added the sand.

"C" is when I added the heater and was going to fishless cycle at 85deg but changed my mind before I hit it.

"D" is once the heater was in...flatline...I am bumping it up a tad as I been going to get it where I want. I am using the controller on the heater right now..once its linked to the RKE for control it will be better. This is also with the lights cycling on and off so it hasn't effected the tank temp yet...only been one day. I'll post another graph after I get 5 solid days to compaire.

"E" is a movable line that tells you what the temp was at that point...thats the temp number on the upper right of the screen.

You can change it to a one day view too...and it give a avg on the left :D

The first and second times i used it i put fish in within 24 hours closer to like 6 hours and the levels were already looking good and the fish did and are doing very well! Its super easy to use, u basically just do a dose of this stuff every day for 1 week and the fish can be added at any point during the process as long as u continue to add it daily.

I would definately pick it up and try it out. Again the stuff i use is by Seachem and its called Stability!

Ditto stability is the only one that has worked for me its great stuff and the real deal. :headbang2

I see you got safe start! let us know how it works I cannot seem to find the stuff lol. You may need a few bottles for a tank your size. and that chart is sweeeet! Have you started churning the water and running your filtration yet to age the water a bit before the fish come in ?

Did you try the tetra stuff? I already have 4 bottles of the stuff so its getting dumped on tuesday when the fish come lol.

Never tried the tetra stuff. Heard it works though. Have you started churning that water yet? aging it a bit? :) This is indeed crazy awesome I can't wait to see the tank happenin with fish in it :)
