Just stumbled across this thread......amazing tank!!

What is the purpose of the phosphate reactors on a freshwater tank? What media do you have in them?

At first I wasnt sure of the phosphates would get too high and cause green water since I have such high powered light with no plants. The UV can keep up with it tho so I dont even run them any more. I also ran carbon in them...but again the UV keeps the water crystal so I dont use them.

Makes sense now. Thanks for the explanation.

No problem...thanks for the feedback. Another thing to note...if I did it over again I would just get 2 big canisters and skip the wetdry...save that for saltwater. I may still go that route one day.

This is about the freshest thing I've ever seen! A big old tank in the KITCHEN, that's crazy. I started reading this last night and I could not finish so I went to the end to see the finished tank. I hope I didn't miss pics of your fish, I'll try to go back through and check it out. Also, the pond is is too fresh.

I'll get some. I would like to get a good pic of every fish in there...but that will take some time. Here is one I took the other night...it doesnt have all the fish in the shot but it does have a few of them. I'll get more once the new fish get in and settled.

Beautiful, I love the lighting so much. Great job! Might I inquire about your lighting setup?

It was 2 400w MH that were in big 20x20 reflectors 2' off the water. The pic tho is my cameras flash on top of the tank in the middle about 2' off the water to give it that effect.

This one sold and im working on a new 375gal. See the link in my sig from Titan...its slow going but there are some pics in it.
