240g tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Haha, the wife says no pirhanas. Thanks for the suggestions. At least I learned a little about the diff species. This tank is in our living room and she wants something "pretty"

shoal of exodons. like mini piranhas and can look really cool in a big tank, but school much more than piranhas

not pretty??

Wow jp, that is very nice looking. What size tank is that? What has been your experience with the smaller schooling fish and pirhanas?

that's not my tank, it's a 600g tank but you could do the same with your 240g. if it's in your living room, make it a show piece instead of just a bare tank with some fish swimming around regardless you go piranha or other species of fish.
here's my 180g, I'm still deciding to go with a shoal of pygos or a decent size diamond rhom (if I can find one with good price)with bunch small fish to add activities to the tank.

now to your question, if the piranhas are big enough they won't pay much attention to smaller fish, may still pick some off over time but if you provide hiding spots like plants and woods you could have a cohab going on.

thats a shame, most piranha can end up quite beautiful

Howdy,

I was in the same shoes some years ago. 220 gal. Mixed it up and around from everything like tiny community fish, via some wild caught oddballs, to NGT dats and finally ended up in piranhas.

is this Harley from PFury? anyways i'd go with a mixed pygo tank. def if money and supply was no option then get some monster pirayas, terns, caribe, and maybe some super reds if you can find them.
