i have fx5 and eheim 2260....if i can do it again i would go with two 2260 or 2262

+1 I would love to have 2 on mine.

I would suggest two large canisters at least... Fx5 or equivalent. Ideally at that size you would have a sump, with a canister for back up.

Don't have a tank that large.. yet. But I do a min of 2 filters on my tanks.

1) You can never over filter your tank, just potentially blow your fish around. lol
2.) If anything happens to 1 filter the other is at least helping until you can replace the other.

imo you can't go wrong w/ a sump system w/ a back-up/ additional canister. and you get the best of both worlds on a filtration front. the power of a canister w/ the bendability of a sump.

I would do a sump and a canister. Its always nice to have a back up filter cause no never know....

you might want to build an algee trff scrubber very easy to do cheap to build and it works
those things look ugly.

would a Fx 5 filter be enough alone? Also what sump filter would you suggest?
Yes, if the tank is pretty lightly stocked and you do frequent water changes. I'm not sure about the sump (never used one before), but I think most people build their own sumps (it can be a lot cheaper that way if you know what you're doing).
