ALright well I have a 240 gallon or HAD and I moved it to a new stand once I started filling I came down and noticed a 6 inch crack at the bottom left of a side...I dont have pics but ou can imagine the glass is 5/8 and the crack did not spread will it? I am trying to silicone a piece of 1/4 glass over the crack and half way up the tank and the piece is the width 24 inches by about 15 tall and will do the same on the out side of the tank! Is this good or bad and has anyone ever had a monster tank crack and do a lil fix up! I dont want to buy a whole new piece any advice please!!!!

just replace the panel. its the only correct way to do it and it also wont look like crap.
That was kind of rude. Maybe someone without a hair up ... Can give you a viable response.

i dont find that rude:confused: i find the person just gave his opinion. and i also think you woul dbe better just changing the panel, its a forsure way to not have any problems.

The glass panel inside the tank covering the cracked panel will work fine. Does the crack go from edge to edge?

the only other way i would do it and be able to trust it is to first drill a small hole in the glass at the end of the crack to prevent it from spreading and then patch it with 1/4" glass.
