24k Rays??

Hybrids are so out of hand over there in Asia they don't even know what's what anymore. Everything is Potamotrygon sp. Or hybrid... some are now 5 or more generations of hybrid x hybrid. I mean at that point what are you going to do? Have a name that's a mile long of all the mixes? Or just call it a hybrid?

You are very right....
There are some stunning hybrids but all the above makes it very difficult for Ray keepers that have not been into rays for years like some of you Guys have to sometimes know what ray they actually have

Firstly, aquiring rays in SA is still a battle like you can not believe
We waited 2 years and many promises for our first 2 motoros and now 4 years later we finally manged to get 2 BD pups a few weeks ago..... when they (motoros) arrived the female is deffinatly a motoro. The male stunning as he is.... we have searched high and low to try and figure out what is in his bloodline to no avail.... I guess our lack of experience doesnt help either.
The female gave birth to two pups end of last year and again the female pup looks motoro the male... who knows?
We now have 3 female "motoros" of which 2 look genuine motoros the 3rd one's colour is very different...
Most if not all of our imports come from Asia so we are pretty much at their mercy and as you say the hybrids have gotten completly out of hand
some stunning ones but would be nice to actually know what you getting

He indeed doesnt answer anything on his YT channel. Probably doesnt know how, haha. Although e does answer on his Facebook page if you ask him there. As far as I know he usually gets the rays from either a few own rays or very close friends that breed and should know what the parents are.

Most of them are "super mega giga big spots" or "super mega giga white ultra super diamond white" these days, even if its almost common looking normal BDs.

Also, I really dont know what those rays are, but couldnt they be Motoro X ??? (maybe Leo or BD?)
Because I really see those black/yellow/white rings that Motoros simply have. To me those rays look like Motoro x something.

They look quite similar to my old Motoro x P14 female I once had...

Note: Its quite a bad pic, not the best light (cold white + blue LEDs)... the ray had a brown/dark brown-ish base, black rings, then kinda yellowish rings and kinda white spots inside the yellow + black rings.

Don't think it's the lighting, just very yellow Rays, how do they get that color?
