That's not a UGF. My overhead filtration is hook up with some PVC piping which I drilled holes in them hidden underneath the soil with a mesh over them. So water are drain from below to the overhead filter.

So you have the intake of the hob all the way on the bottom under the substrate?

Is that co2 in this tank as well? And why are the plants up on a platform?

This set up really has me intrigued. I have always like shrimp, but now I want :) Lets see more of the set up....more filtration pics...lighting etc. Thanks Koji :)

Ahhhhhhh... okay... thats a pretty clever idea... might keep that in mind for my next paludarium project...
I'm practically re-using those parts available in the farm to DIY my tank's system. I just use whatever is available.:)

Shrimps love to hide in shadows. And having too many driftwood in there with moss will clamp up the space and also giving them too much hidding space and making viewing difficult. Thus by tying the moss onto the mesh and placing the mesh on top of the CR will provide a neat hiding place for them and also making viewing easier.

Filtration system is more or less the same as any fish keeping. Light I'm just using normal cool white T5.:)

That makes sense.. why buy more material when you can get it for free :naughty:

Thanks for the info koji! Now I need to gather up some materials for my future shrimp tank.

Yes. Setting up properly is very important.:)

Yesterday fixed an external probe for my chiller to capture temp in my tank rather from the chiller itself. It's more accurate this way and more electricity cost effective.:)

The external Probe in the tank

Drilled a small hole for the wiring to be extended out from the chiller

An overview. Neat and out of the way.
