i only have rcs in a tank right now, i float riccia and have some christmas moss on a log. my question is, how much do you feed? i feed my shrimp about 7 hikari crab cuisine 2 times a day and i have quite a tankful maybe 50. am i overfeeding? also, what are the floating plants you have there in some of the pictures with the very long stems. do you vaccum your tanks? i do once a week and get a bit of muck out. i'm trying to figure out how to keep a very clean tank.

Try not to feed them too much. We don't have to feed the shrimps everyday. Infact a small amount which they can finish within 2 hours will be fine. You can try feeding them on alternate day.

I have amazon frogbits in there as floating plants and I don't clean my soil. just drain water from the tank. I'm using a DIY undergravel filtration system which will draw water from below and to my overhead filter.

As for cleaning of tanks, I will do at least once a week.

LOL @ the Fire ants comment...

Better not get bitten or its going to sting

A bluish Fire red / Sakura?

Coz that could be very interesting to see...

Oh well, green is getting close...

But just curious, how to get bluish ones? is it from selective breeding?

My "wild" FR. I was like clearing one of the stylfoam box filled with guppies and some moss when I found a good batch of FR/Sakura in there!!

I remember the box was at outdoor under the weather for the pass 1 year liao. Must have been some shrimplets stuck in the moss which I throw into there 1 year back.:p

Confirm liao, cherries really hardy. Plus found alot of berried one some more.:D

That is amazing they survived all that time... although i guess with the moss and being outside they had plenty of algae to graze on?

But with that being said i'm also surprised the warm weather didn't kill them? or were they some what shaded the whole time and out of the sun?
