25" Clown Knife Not Eating!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Has he ever had to change tanks before.. it is quite an ordeal for them to go through..especially with his enormous size.. he is probably just sulking for the past..but he will eventually get use to his new home...and i am sure after water change and adding salt and melafix he will feel better.. do you throw food in that sinks to bottom.. did you feed him sinking food before?? Because he still could be eating when u are not looking.. wish you the best.. he is gorgeous!!!;)

I just changed the water and pet him a bit and he seems happier. He hurt his nose again, he seems very skittish in his new home. This is the second time he's changed homes but last time he changed he was about 19-20" long now hes about 25". He ate one goldfish, that's about it. He's been on live food forever, the only thing I can do is quarentine the feeders which I do. I'm just going to keep salt in the tank and do water changes once a week until he feels better.

I believe the scrapes on your ClownKnife are caused by the sharp rocks you have in there. I would remove the sharp rocks, add some smooth rocks or drift wood and then do a 50% water change, that will take care of the scrapes. Good Luck:)

Is your big CK doing better now.. hope so.. hope he is eating better too..;)

He ate one goldfish, that i've seen within the last month. The gars usually get all the food and I got to feed extra just for the small chance he might eat. He hurt his nose again during a water change, he got freaked out  I'm going to do another water change in a week, hopefully this will help.
