I went to pick up an 19 inch sail fin pleco today and was extremely surprised when I saw how big it really was. I bought it and measured it when I came home. The pleco is 25,2 inches long, no ****.

I've never seen or even read about a pterygoplichthys gibbiceps this big. Everywhere, it says it doesn't get bigger than 18-20 inches. Is 25" new to you guys aswell or is it just me overreacting? :P

12-18 inches is the norm but tank conditions can influence the size and most plecos are kept in rather small tanks. Any pics of it next to a measuring tape? It would be nice to see a pic of it.

Jeez folks, relax. Problem is he won't really pass by the glass, but I'll try to get the pic when I'm home from work...

25" or not that is bad ass! Congrats on a nice pick up. I too would like to see a pic with a ruler if you could once it settles in. Not because I doubt you, but because I've never seen one that big.
