3 fish in a 250?

yeah like i said if more then what?

a 250 is huge. You can have alot more than that man.. What are you planning on for filtration?

as for decor. With oscars or really anything like them they will move all the stuff around so skip the plants of any kind. I dont know what you mean by rock?

for substrate you could do rock.. but id do sand of bare bottom.

if you do sand or bare bottom, you could do drift wood. Which is what id do, get a mangrove stump or something.

if you do sand, you could do rock formations? but i wouldnt with the south americans..

Id do sand and drift wood.

If your just starting out in the hobby you might want to start on a little smaller tank. I'm guessing you are since you were wondering if 3 fish for a 250 is too much.. Which isnt bad but you might want to get some experience under your belt with a smaller tank

imo

anyways goodluck

You'll have enough room to have several options. Big fish leave big waste, so having a substrate of large pebbles will be a hassle to keep clean. Sand is better IMO. You can add some smaller catfish like Raphaels with a school of Silver Dollars. There's also the smaller cichlids like Convicts, Sajicas, and Firemouths. It's good to plan ahead like you're doing. Good luck.

Hey man if all you want is those three fish then why don't I just trade you that 250 for a 125? Lol

You could fit much more than that. The only thing I'd worry about is aggression, space isn't an issue. Roughly 1 inch per gallon depending on your filtration

i have many smaller tanks that would be my big tank. i do have some xp your my belt and ty for the advice i was just wondering what smaller cichlids but i like demseys and firemouths

bump o and by rocks i ment like rocks not gravel as decor lol and driftwood sounds along with sand

Lol ok, thanks for the clarification. I could give you a whole stock list later of what id put in a 250 if a had the space lol. but seriously im getting a 180, ill send you my stocklist of what im going to be putting in.

But yeah you should just do sand and driftwood lol.

THANKS fishook i liked the idea
