Hello
Finally I star build my plywood tank. It takes 350cmx110x90. Inside - 335x 95x90cm high.

Yesterday I made base for this project.

What kind of glass should I use?
1- 320x80 or 70cm x12mm
2- 320x80 or 70cm x 15mm

I prefer 12mm becouse is cheepest about 1/2 price, but my problem is it safe?

X- how many cm? (left inside, right outside, blue - glass, black - silicone)

With a window of 320x70 I would use 15 mm glass.
If I put the numbers in my excel sheet, then that would give a safety margin of about 3,4 which is OK.

With a window of 320x80 I think 15 mm glass would be too thin.
15 mm gives a safety faktor of 2,3 It can work. But I wouldn't feel to comfortable with it. It's a lot of water! :D

With 320x80 and 19 mm You've got a safety faktor of 3,6
But 19 mm glass would make it a lot more expensive though.
Also with 19 mm the glass gets quite greenish. For my plywood tank (2500x1250x1000) I have bought a window 2200x850 and 19 mm thick in low iron optiwhite to avoid the greenish colour. It did cost around 600 euros .

For the overlap (distance X) normally 2,5 cm is enough. For my tank I went with 4 cm overlap, to make a better seal and spread the pressure a bit more because of the water height.

thanks for advice
