Very nice Jed.

Post pics of your filtration system im interested and also how do you do water changes? You dont fill buckets and then condition them and add to tank do you? Coz you would be there all day and i know you dont just add the water straight to tank then condition it do ya?

I have a 50ft python that I use for water changes. But I don't use the sink flow to drain. I think that is a waste of water. So I use it to just to get it started and suck out most of the dirt. But after that I just disconnect it and let it gravity flow out of my tank. But since the tank is huge it takes 2-2.5 hrs to drain about 180-200Gs of water.

As for filling it I just do the regular "use the hand to check temp" technique and fill it in with the python. I just dump in the water conditioner straight into the tank and leave it. Takes about 1.5-1.75 hrs to fill it up again.

Problem for me is that I sometimes forget about it and it has ALMOST overflowed. I need to get one of those Flood alarms so I don't make that mistake.

so where is the tank water being emptied when you change the water?

And you have like a hose attached to the tap that goes straight into the tank?

You don't need to let the water sit overnight or anything?

I let mine set overnight and put dechlorinator in it, but I have a small tank so it's not much hassle.

I have it drain into the toilet.

Yup from the tap straight.

No, I don't let it sit. I have no room or time for that much hassle. If the Hobby gets to be work instead of fun, I will lose interest

Hahaha I know you were going to say that. He rocks. I want another one so I guess I have to search. Canada sucks :swear:
